What a time capsule! I love seeing cars like that, saved all these years exactly as they were born. What are the plans now for the owner since you are doing all the upgrades?

Hi Chang,

You are correct about the geometry issue. Unfortunately due to the design of the hydraulics and the legs at the front end of the lift, there is no clearance to drop an engine out that side. That would have been too easy :)

Sorry if I missed this... The lift looks like it doesn't have a bar on the front side. If you parked with the engine on that side, would the geometry of the lift prevent you from fitting a lift for the engine/tranny underneath because the hydraulic pistons would get in the way?

If there's enough clearance (lowering the engine/tranny out of the car) on that side, I figured it might be easier to rig a setup to clear the hydraulic pistons instead of modifying the lift.

Hi Michel,

Yes, it was indeed the cold start valve. I will write a blog post on the replacement soon, we have been swamped, so behind on the blogging. One other thing you can try, is that right away in the morning after it has sat, push and hold the accelerator to the floor and try and start the car. It should fire right up as you are adding a large amount of airflow to match the fuel that has leaked out of the cold start injector. It is a little bugger to replace, but can be done by just removing the heater blower and going around the driver side of the motor. It is 100% done by feel though as you can't see anything.
