Ok, who the heck is going to Google search Car 54 anyway. To heck with that. We got out the paint brush the other day and gave Car 54 a makeover. At the race down at Eagles Canyon, the front fender got smashed in by some totally irresponsible driver. I’m not saying they were from “our team” or from “another team”, but the fender is bent. I think it was the last straight panel on the car. The paint products …
See, two searchable titles in one night! The title I was going to use: “Hot slammin salmon Porsche 965 gets some big HP upgrades.” Totally doesn’t make much sense. Huh, I am beginning to see what Russ means. Actually, while we name each car, this is not the Slammin Salmon. I have named this car the Blue Beast of Yorkshire. We left off last week with the little 965 in the grasp’s of the evil doctor. The ancient smog pump …
Our web and marketing expert keeps telling me I have to be more “search orientated correct” in my blog title posts. In fact, I was told this as he held a nice big burger from Paul’s drive in under my nose. Everyone around here seems to think I am motivated by food for some reason (Send all Ho-ho’s, french fries, and donuts to the shop to my attention…I don’t eat foods that begin with the letter M (namely the big …
We’ve seen this car in here before, now it is time for some big modifications 🙂 The 1994 3.6L 911 Turbo. In my opinion, the 94 3.6 turbo is the the iconic 911 turbo. Name the movie: –“What the f- w’you mean you don’t have one? Eighty thousand dollars for this car and you ain’t got no damn cup holder?” –“It’s $105,000 and this happens to be one of the fastest production cars on the planet. Zero to sixty in …

Audi A6 maintenance
Had this 2005 Audi A6 come in the other day for some quick maintenance. Had a CEL on the dash as well as the 85k mile maintenance reminder due. The CEL suggested a dirty throttle body which is pretty common in these audi and vw’s. I removed it and got all the old oil and carbon cleaned up. Then it was on to replacing the rear brake pads. Since the car uses an electronic rear handbrake, you can’t just replace …

964 C2 Suspension Drop
I must say, I love everything about this car. From the muffler bypass pipes, to the black wheels, and color combo…..perfect in my opinion for a 964. With one exception….that 4wd ride height 😉 So today Adam dropped by and we got to work. Since I had a set of 3.6 turbo H&R springs laying around, we decided to go with those and a new set of Bilstein HD shocks. The nice thing about the 964 setup is that there …

Boxster 2.7L Borla Exhaust Install
Swapped out the factory beefy exhaust on this 2.7L 986 for something with a little more growl to it. While Borla states the exhaust only fits the 3.2L S, it can be made to fit the 2.7L with some modifications (the exhaust to transmission mount specifically). The old OEM muffler. The weight savings is substantial. And the new exhaust installed. VROOOOOOM!

2003 Boxster IMS Replacement Continued
As you can tell today, I have been blogging like crazy trying to catch up. We have been so slammed at the shop, my duties here have been severely neglected. We finished up the yellow boxster IMS upgrade the other day. Being a tiptronic 2003 we had a couple of things working against us in terms of ease of replacement. #1: Tiptronic transmission: This requires removal of the center intake plenum and throttle body so we can remove the starter …

Boxster Waterpump Replacement
Had this little Boxster come in (ok I towed it in, lol) with a coolant leak and rattle in the motor. Pretty common for the waterpump bearing to fail and start leaking as well as rattling like crazy. With 90k miles on it, i’d say this waterpump had a good life. Like the 944, these pumps should be replaced as a maintenance item. Whenever we do a belt change, we try and inspect the pump as closely as we can …

GT3 #2 Prep
Getting this little GT3 ready for the upcoming DE at HPT. The car is pretty well set up, but needed to get rid of some of the remaining rubber components in the suspension. First thing we wanted to do was to get the coolant out of the system so we could replace it with 100% water and water wetter. After pulling the fender liners, we can get to the front 3 radiators to drain them. And drain the engine. Fill …
