Squeaks Gets A New Exhaust
Thursday evening I was able to knock out the exhaust on Squeaks. The muffler had rusted through, so I decided to upgrade the entire system 🙂 Old rusty exhaust. When I tried to remove the few exhaust clamps that there were, they just fell apart into pieces. While in solid shape, Squeaks is a daily driver that has seen duty on MN, KS, and SD winter roads, so stands to reason that the exhaust components are at the end of …

1986 928S
Damn 928’s 🙂 Got called up to help with a 928S that had recently quit running. The owner had parked the car, and the next day it wouldn’t start. JR had pulled a bunch of relays and tried new ones thinking a fuel pump relay, lh relay, etc had gone bad, but with no luck. I immediately went to the fuel pump first, as I have seen quite a few fail. Checked power at the pump while cranking, and got …

Digging through pictures
Stephen and I were digging through pictures of all the cars we have built over the years, and I came across this video we had made. It was meant to be a huge spoof, and has about 175k views on youtube now….looking at the comments, looks like some people didn’t think it was so funny, lol! I will post up some more pictures as I find them. I lost a harddrive a few years ago, and with it a ton …

Good Morning Lin
Right now it is about 4:30am and you are on your second cup of coffee. You might be thinking about whether you chose the right color paint for the garage, did you really get those anchor bolts on the lift set securely, or maybe asking yourself if you should put up more lighting. Although, Maybe you are icing your low back from all that stone work. Now those are all important questions and issues to ponder, but what you really should be doing …

2004 BMW 530i Oil Change
Did an oil change and inspection on this beautiful 530i today. Oil change went as planned, though the oil had 10k miles on it and was extremely black. I am personally not a fan of these 10-15k mile oil change intervals that most companies have gone to. The oil is coming out darker and thicker than it should, and I think there will be a lot of higher mileage issues in the future with these cars that stick to every …

944 Short Shifter and Belt Retension
Since we couldn’t install the short shift kit in the 951 without major issues, we decided to install it in his other 944. Nothing was broken on this car, so it went in pretty easily, lol. Elevate the rear Waaay up there is the shift linkage. New short shifter. Old shift assembly Annnd installed. We had done the belts about 1500 miles ago, so it was time to retension them (new belts only). Now he will be good for 15k …

Denali Door Handle
I had a buddy (The Incredible Hulk) pull his exterior door handle off of his tow vehicle the other day, so we ordered up a new cheap oem plastic handle assembly and went to work, lol. Interesting thing, is it was in stock at the dealer, so I assume this happens fairly often. It’s been so busy around here, I have resorted to working in the street…..The door panel comes off quite easily, 3 bolts, and a few snap clips. …

Gemballa 996TT Continued…..
Look what showed up today! “Fra-gee-lay. That must be Italian. I called my buddy Jay at Fabspeed earlier this week to help us out on the exhaust. We ordered a Maxflo sport exhaust. I have probably installed hundreds of these systems and they sound fantastic. Fitment is great as well. I still need to adjust the tips, I just ran out of time today with other projects that came through. Highly polished stainless steel mufflers with 200 cell HKS cats. …

GT3RS Brake Pads
After a lot of laps, it is time for new brake pads for the project RS. After talking extensively with Fabryce at GMG, he recommended brake pads by a company called Endless (or at least that is what the pads are called). We had been running the Pagids, and he recommended these over them and the PFC’s for stopping power and still being easy on the rotors. Rear caliper off to change the pads. On the new gt3’s, you have …

968 Fuel System Refurb
Aaron dropped off his 968 the other day because it died on him and wouldn’t start on his way to work. He had been having some wierd hesitation issues as well, so it was time to take a look at it. Found the bad fuel pump right away, and started tearing things apart. Since we are in there, we replaced the pump, tank screen, fuel filter, check valve, and the fuel pressure regulator. Once inside, we found the reason for …
