944 Turbo PPI
Guy from Houston found us online and wanted a PPI on this 180K 1986 944 Turbo. His plan was to fly in and drive home. Car just had a local P-car shop help with an engine “rebuild” and minor service. Car drove out very nice, made boost quickly, great sound from a Lindsey exhaust. Pretty clean little car but not a ride to take off cross-country in as she sat. First thing noted on compression test was that “rebuilt engine” …

Cam seals in the front, new O-ring for the cam angle sensor on the back of the left bank (right as seen from front.) Seals in, cams now torqued, water neck sealed, ready to go! Audi GT hall sensor replacement
About a year ago we tossed a motor in this little Audi GT. Lately it has been having intermittent running issues. Two thing we found were a baked O2 sensor and broken insulator at the hall sensor. So pull the distributor and here we go: Broken hall: Now we go after the tiny litte C-clips and press the reluctor/sending ring off the distributor to get to this: Now with the new sensor in place: Ready to go back in.

The spec miata continues….
So a big issue with Miatas is the rear suspension. The throughbolt in the rear carrier is exposed and becomes siezed. Also the rear axle splines sieze into the hub. After destroying the axle, chopping the bolts into pieces, leaving it under 24,000lbs pressure overnight, and finally putting a cheater bar (allegedly) on the press, the carrier was finally free. This had to be done since the frozen lower carrier to control arm bolts would have caused some crazy handling …

1965 Mustang 289 carb rebuild
Boo has become the ghost of christmas presents, this ’65 is for a customers lucky wife. This car came with the Autolite 2100 2 barrel. When opened up 46 years of goo had taken its toll. I had scraped a bunch of crud out before I remembered to grab a camera, but there was still plenty left to shoot. Pulling the venturis and jets to chem dip The carb was leaking a little fuel around the accel pump. Here’s why: …
1965 289 Mustang convertible, factory a/c Back in the 60’s both mom and dad had some hot 289 Mustangs so I know they’d dig this. This baby has been parked for a decade. After the owner spent hours and hours cleaning and relocating a large colony of mice this came to the shop for us to bring back to life in time for christmas. Under the dust she is all there, really solid, with matching #’s. We will pull the tank …

Karl is actually working on the engine of this Boxster. I could hear him but didn’t see him… Still nothing.. Really? inside a Boxster engine bay? I couldn’t do that if the engine was missing!

The 356 Lives!
Karl has posted some of the work on this car in the past. Just a quick update. She is alive and kicking. Got it started and took it for a “lot drive” this week. We have also continued getting everything back together on the body of the car. Seems like even something a simple as the bumper is a challenge here. The license plate lights we were able to polish out, but the bumper deco and gaurds had to be replaced. Since …

Sometimes free is worth it.
Had an ’02 Turbo in for a little minor repair and noted the headlights looked like this: Also noted the left front turn signal did not work. These are not what the car came in for and I couldn’t charge for it but I thought it enough of a safety issue to knock out gratis. These things really took some sanding. Here is the after: The difference is night and day. Of course all the turn signals also work now. We …
