Lambo Day at RennsportKC

Had a really nice low mileage Gallardo Spyder come in for some basic maintenance including oil change. The Lambo dry sump system is surprisingly similar to the Porsches, with a slightly harder to get to oil filter!

It’s coming for you…..

Getting ready to head upwards. The oil change on the Gallardo coupe is so much easier due to the clamshell not being in the way. With the coupe, you can work from the rear of the car, which makes getting the filter out much easier. With the Spyder, it is a PITA.

Between the two throttle bodies under the intake lives the filter housing.

It’s hard to see, but stuck under there. Really getting the dang sensor out of the way off the bracket is the toughest part.

After the filter is out, then on to draining the oil.

Sump tank drain like a Porsche.

And crankcase drain also like a Porsche. Easy pleasy.

After 10 liters or so comes out, you can fill her up and move on to the next project!

Weird how the power steering reservoir is the same one as a 30 year old Porsche.

You would love these cars. Half the parts are from Audi. The radio is out of the mid 2000 audis, amongst numerous other items such as even the air filters 🙂
