951 Work
Last night a beautiful 951 came in for some service. Sadly, it isn’t driven much, but the car is in great shape. We are going to go through a few maintenance items on it (oil change, spark plugs, sway bar bushing, coolant oring, etc), install a Vitesse Racing k26/6 tuning chip, and a manual boost controller once everything is sorted out. Stay tuned.

It’s Alive :)
Decided with the weather getting cold that I had better get the dragon back together after the headgasket blew. Drove out to the storage unit and picked it up (ran into a customer from IA that I had not seen in a long time, so I stopped to help him on the side of the road as well, lol) Got it home and up on the lift. Turns out one of the fans had died in the 100 degree heat …

Last minute splitter repair
Finally had a few minutes this week to do a last minute repair on my front splitter for next weekend’s DE. I arrived at a gator about 12 inches too early at MAM a few weeks ago, dropped the front right wheel into a pothole, and the splitter caught the edge of the gator, breaking a piece off. Timesert or Helicoil?
So you have damaged the threads in something really important and you need to fix it. What do you do? Probably the number one answer you will get is to install a helicoil. A helicoil is a spring like insert which you install in the hole which provides for new threads that the bolt can catch when installed. In my honest opinion, the fix will last about as much as the helicoil costs….not long. Helicoils are notorious for pulling out …
