928S4 Continued
Well today some of the gaskets and seals showed up for the 928, so I got those swapped out. Getting to the oil fill tube gasket requires removal of the thermostat housing. It is a really tight fit and one of the bolts is a real pain to get to. I got the gaskets all replaced, and noticed a couple of the injector seals are leaking, so I pulled the fuel rails in preparation to replace all the injector seals. …

928S4 Maintenance
Since project 997TT is on hold, a very nice 928S4 came in tonight for some service due to a leaking radiator end cap. We will also be doing the thermostat and associated gaskets, and the oil filler tube gasket which is leaking. An oil change should top it off, just in time for the nice weather 🙂 Radiator fans out and most of the coolant drained. Radiator out, time to clean up some leaves….. We will be having Orr Radiator …

996TT Clutch Accumulator
Had a 996TT come in today with a failed hydraulic accumulator. Up in the air. Tall rams would work best as the jack stands sit unfortunately right where you need to be working at. The accumulator is up on the side of the slave cylinder and is a real bugger to get to. You will need to modify a couple wrenches to get at it. Winter on it’s way out?
With any luck, we will start seeing some warmer weather. Amazing what happens once the sun comes out, as the cars start to roll in for spring maintenance. I think everyone is ready to kiss this crappy winter season goodbye. While it is still a bit chilly, having the sun out makes it feel a lot warmer! 2004 BMW 330Ci Service 2

Explorer repair in Seattle
While Val and I were out in Seattle for Xmas, I did some work on my mom’s 2002 Explorer. The ford trucks from the late 90’s to the mid 2000’s have an issue with the digital odometer not lighting up randomly. Some days it will work, others it will not and you can’t read the display. Squeaks gets a new fuel pump
Val’s jeep has had a couple of no start issues in the past year, all of which quickly subsided after sitting a few hours, but none the less, I was afraid it would leave her stranded somewhere eventually. 951 Output Shaft Seal Replacement
Replaced a leaking output shaft seal on a 951 today. It had gotten bad enough that it was leaving a puddle on the ground after driving, so it was time to replace it. Remove the CV axle from the output shaft. The bolts are typically 8mm triple square bits but they may have been replaced with 6mm allens at some point. One the axle is out of the way, remove the 6mm allen in the center of the output shaft. …

993 Repairs
Had a 993 in the garage the other day for a few repairs. First off I repaired the fan duct housing to the heater assembly, and then I went after a metal rattle in the rear of the car.
