BMW X5 Suspension and Oil Leak Repairs
Had this 150k mile X5 come in today with a few issues. The rear tires are wearing very unevenly, and we spotted the upper rear control arms having excessive play in the ball joints, so we will replace those tomorrow. Hard to see, but the upper rear arms are the issue. After pulling the lower pan, I discovered the oil pan was coated in oil. Not often a pan leaks in these cars, so I followed the leak upwards. 323i Throttle Body Completed
Finished up the 323i throttle body install the other day. Pretty straight forward going back together, except that we tossed the crappy old torn rubber intake boots in favor of new boots. New throttle body ready to go on. TB installed with new rubber intake boots. Since the car came in on a flat bed, I didn’t really know the condition of the car. 944 Oil Leaks Part 2:
The latest round on the 944 finally showed some progress at the end of the day. The cam tower apart and ready to reseal. Waiting on one small cam plug before I can start reassembly. 996 Oil Leaks
A buddy of mine brought by his 996 that is having trouble containing it’s oil, lol. Every time he drives the car, he gets out and smells that familiar smell of oil burning off the engine. Boxster Oil Leak
Last week when I changed the oil in this boxster, I noticed an oil leak on the passenger side. Typically that is due to the oil fill tube being cracked and leaking. After further investigation, I confirmed the tube was beat up a bit, so I ordered a new one and finally got a chance to tackle it today.
