Project 964 C4
Now that we have ironed out all the previous owner issues with the silver fox, it is time to start modifying this puppy 🙂 First things up are a lot better exhaust note along with some additional horsepower. First things first. Getting a decent throaty exhaust like a sports car should have. A Catbypass pipe and secondary muffler bypass….ohhh yea. Pulling the old exhaust tip off, it is pretty rusty and ugly. Since we have to reuse this, off to …

Rod Bearings LSX
Thought I had a few minutes today to torque the new rod bearings into place on the LSX motor. Never fails when you are doing something important that you get bombarded with phone calls and visits 🙂 I think I retorqued these about 3x each as you don’t want to guess which bolt is at which stage after you forget, lol. The LSX motor takes the torque in two steps, 15ft/lbs, then a 75 degree rotation. Ready to go. My …

Bead Blaster Fun :)
We have been watching for awhile now trying to find a good bead blaster. The little cheap harbor freight units are ok if you are doing a few small parts on occasion, but the dust collection systems and general operation of the units leave a lot to be desired. So we finally found a nice quality unit for a good price and picked it up. Pretty much a new unit for a smoking deal! And it’s big. A bead blaster …

3.2L Carrera PPI
This is why you do PPI’s. Buying a car from out of state can be a gamble. This 911 came in for a PPI, but something just wasn’t right. The car felt like it was running a few cylinders short. We tested every sensor in the car thinking it had to be and air, fuel, or spark issue, but everything checked out. Then out came the leakdown and compression gauges. The results weren’t good 🙁 But…it saved an unsuspecting buyer …

SP3 (951) build continued
Finished up most of the suspension today, with just a few bits here and there to take care of. Rear sway bar off the car ready for replacement Setting up the rear drop links for the weltmeister adjustable sway bar. Oh yea! Then it was time to ditch the AC compressor and move the alternator down. Old hunk of weight out of the car. And the Alternator out. And the alternator back in with Rennsport’s AC Delete bracket. I also …

Outlaw 356
This project has been on hold for awhile as we were waiting for the shop that did the body work to come by and go over some unresolved issues on the car. After a month of no shows, we have just decided to repair the issues ourselves. The major issue was the A pillar on the driver side being bent enough that the windshield would not fit without leaving a giant cap in the corner. Wes took care of that …

996 C4S Headlight Repair
Wes had this 996 come into the shop this weekend while we were at Daytona. The headlights weren’t working anymore, which is usually due to the headlight switch, which he was able to replace and fix the issue. Then it was time for an oil change today. I put the car up in the air and changed the oil, but I think we have a bigger issue brewing. Judging by reciepts, this car had a RMS/clutch replacement….but no IMS upgrade/seal …
We are currently tackling suspension on the Mustang. Once we sorted all the running issues we were able to drive it at speed. And then quickly back to the shop to replace the worn suspension. The car was all over the place on the road, so we knew all the bushings and shocks would need to be done. Old radius rod bushings. And new ones. I also replaced the front sway bar bushings while in there. Then we decided to …

964 Cab Continued
Slowly plodding along with our 964 project as we have time. We are waiting on one of the gauges to come back from NHS. The face was de-laminating over the warning lights, so we sent it out to be replaced. A little ridiculous that they wouldn’t sell us a new face, as the install is no different that replacing the odometer gears (different gauge). Oh well. So….we are putting on a cup bypass pipe, so I dropped the secondary muffler …
