ZR3 Laser Shifters
I finally got around to removing the Escort ZR3 laser shifters from the Dragon when I had it home. I will be installing these in the M as it will be the one seeing street time. Friday night I started the job. It is amazing how much time you can burn installing the built in units, lol. Radar and laser detection is covered with the V1. Started with the rear. Ran the wire from the license plate area, inside the …

GT3RS Interceptors finished.
Finished up the Laser Interceptor install today. Some comparison notes to the Escort 9500ci: 1. Obviously it is for laser shifting only, there is no radar detection like the 9500ci 2. I would call the technology similar to that of my 1980 Apple IIE that I had growing up. The voice prompts are absolutely hillarious. Seriously, I remember when it first came out that you could type a sentance into a computer and it would speak the words back to …

GT3RS Laser Interceptor Install
Well since I am in the radar/laser shifter installing mode, I figured I would borrow the GT3RS and get that done as well. I had previously installed the rear shifter when I had the bumper off to do the exhaust, but hadn’t had time to get the rest of it done. Shifter kit minus the rear shifter. I will integrate the V1 detector into the L1 for voice alerts rather than the beep. Front bumper off so I can install …

Project GT3RS GMG Exhaust
Finally got around to installing the GMG headers and center muffler section on the GT3RS. Overall differences in weights were minimal. The OE headers/cats were sighly lighter than the GMG headers and the GMG center section was lighter than the OE center section slightly. The sound at idle is slightly louder, but very civil. The sound at 4500rpms when the valves open on the stock mufflers, is incredible! Getting started: We also have a set of quad laser intercepters to …

996 C4S Brakes and V1 Install
Slapped new brake pads in for a buddy and helped him with his V1 hardwire install. There are a couple of ways to do the V1’s in the 996, I usually like to pull power from a plug in the center console. On a non-auto dimming mirror car, you can hide everything up in the sunroof control/light area, but with the dimming mirror, space is a little tighter. Brake pad replacement. Starting the V1 install. Running the wire up over …
